The commercialization process

Once a research result or idea with commercial potential is identified within the BIOMATCELL Center, an established IPR transfer agreement redirects all rights to the newly founded company, Biomatcell AB. Biomatcell AB is fully owned by GU Ventures and was specifically created to drive all BIOMATCELL Center commercialization activities. Following a first evaluation, FTO- and market analysis and often filing of a patent application, promising ideas are commercially exploited in suitable ways. Most projects undergo various steps in verifying and validating the findings to obtain and strengthen the proof-of-concept. When successfully verified, the projects may be further commercialized either through out-licensing to interested companies, or developed as separate spin-off companies.
